As with other English-speaking causes, the people of Ton-Pentre, who had moved in to the locality and were of Congregational persuasion, initially met at private houses. Their original, and quite modest, chapel had cost ₤413 with assistance from Siloh, Pentre.

With the surge in attendance a much grander edifice was built. The cost of this has not been handed down. Whilst this chapel, built on the original site, was being constructed, the congregation met at the local Ton School.
In the early 1970s the English Congregational Union joined with the Presbyterian Church of England to form The United Reformed Church. This arrangement displeased many English-speaking Congregational churches who left the Congregational Union and formed their own Union The Congregational Federation. This church was one of three within The Rhondda that took this course.
By 2020 attendance was in single figures and I believe, according to a notice on the main door, that the congregation continues to meet in the rear vestry.
In 2022 plans were approved to convert the main chapel into flats. Yet by recent examination there is no evidence that this actually happened.
