Prior to the rapid development of Porth, the whole area was refered to as 'Cymer' and it was Salem, Porth that created this branch cause.

And despite its near, and afluent, neighbour it enjoyed a most respectable membership which, at the time of The Revival, peaked at 176. Almost full capacity.
    However by 1930 this had fallen by over 100 and steadily fell in subsequent years.
Despite its outward appearance in the MGCS photograph the chapel had already closed (1975) with subsequent use as a storeroom. And whilst the building was still en situ in 2010 unless I am mistaken I could not see it when passing by last year (2023).
