Bethesda owes its existance to Capel Rhondda, Hopkinstown from which some 60 members were released to form this cause.

Its vestry was built in 1883 which at the demise of the church in 1980 had reverted to holding the services. Those members still present returned to Capel Rhondda.
    The chapel's subsequent use was that of a craft shop and later restored for residential purposes.
