Bethel was a 'Daughter' church of Cymer and grew out of the simple fact that some members were resident in this area no small distance from Cymmer. Cymer's minister, Henry Puntan, also served this causefor a few months but gave up this part of his charge due to the bad-feeling amongst some of Cymer's congregation over the loss of membership to its 'Daughter'.

Easily Bethel's longest serving minister was John Williams who served the church for 50 years. So well regarded by his peers that it was mentioned that many attended his funeral.
Bethel appears from denominational records to have continued until the early 1980s although it is evident from the state of the main chapel that it had bot been used for some years prior. Subsequently demolished, the site is now occupied by residential properties 'Bethel Court'.
