This cause was a 'Daughter' church of Soar, Penygraig. It's original meeting place was a room in the White Hart Inn. Interesting inasmuch that it was then run by one of the deacons of the 'Mother' church whereas in years to come many Rhondda chapels would refuse membership to any person in such a position. It's first permanent home was known as 'Capel Bach' built on the site of where Bethel, Tonypandy stands today.
Although a church in its own right from 1872, it would be some 14 years before the larger chapel was built. And in the meantime she had nurtured her own 'Daughters' at Trealaw, Clydach Vale and Blaenclydach with Tyntyla to follow plus the 'split' to Caersalem.
At its demise in 1979, the church had but 12 members. A far cry from the heady days of The Revival.
The chapel was subsequently demolished and the flats one now sees at Pandy Square built by the Baptist Housing Association.
