The cause at Wattstown can be traced back to 1886 when meetings were held at various properties including The Wattstown Hotel. (It should be noted that this was not a licensed premises at this time)

Estensibly a 'Daughter' church of Ainon, Ynyshir who released some 34 members at incorporation to where those members still en situ at its closure in 1969 returned. Indeed, membership had plumeted from the 1930's.
    The chapel was subsequently used as a builder's warehouse and then in the 1980's, where this writer was administrately involved, converted into flats with financial assistance by means of an Urban Development Grant.
